101: What is The Overflow?

There are thousands of podcasts out there. Pastors podcast. Influencers podcast. Thought leaders podcast. So why launch another one?

Because this one isn’t about building a platform — it’s about pouring out what God has already poured in.

The Overflow is the heartbeat of Brandon and Susan’s decades-long ministry at Keystone Church. After more than twenty years of pastoring, shepherding, counseling, teaching, and raising a family in the house of God, their calling hasn’t changed.

They’ve always lived with one prayer:

“Lord, whatever influence You give us, wherever doors open, we will walk through — but only if You lead.”what-s-the-overflow

This podcast isn’t a hobby. It’s not a content strategy. It’s a continuation of a lifelong assignment: to proclaim who God is, what He’s done, and to let that truth overflow into every listener’s life.

Why “Overflow”?

The name wasn’t casually chosen. In Scripture, overflow is the language of multiplication. It’s the miracle of the jars of oil in 2 Kings 4, where the prophet told the widow to keep pouring until every vessel was filled. It’s the loaves and fishes in the Gospels, where Jesus multiplied what seemed small until basket after basket was running over.

That’s what this podcast aims to be:

Not a replacement for Sunday teaching — but an extension of it.
Not a platform — but a pouring out.
Not just inspiration — but discipleship.

Every church has a voice. Every pastor has a lifetime of messages they won’t get to preach. There are insights God gives in small rooms, private counseling sessions, and kitchen-table moments that never make it to a pulpit.

That’s what lives here. The Overflow is everything that wouldn’t fit in a sermon but burns too deeply to stay silent.

Who Is It For?

The first audience is Keystone Church. This is an overflow to the spiritual family God has entrusted to Brandon and Susan. But like every good river, once it flows, it doesn’t stop.

So whether you’re part of Keystone or listening in from across the world — you’re invited.

Because the Church (big C) is desperate for more truth, more clarity, more Holy Spirit–powered wisdom in a world drowning in noise.

As Susan said beautifully:

“The more voices speaking the truth of Jesus, the better — because we live in a world so dark and so deeply in need.”what-s-the-overflow

What Will They Talk About?

The Overflow is anchored around six core themes — all deeply rooted in Scripture, all urgently needed in our time:

1. Relationships & Marriage

From newlyweds to empty nesters — from dating to parenting adult children — no topic is off limits. Not glossy highlight reels. Real talk. Real struggles. Real redemptionwhat-s-the-overflow.

2. Conflict & Reconciliation

The Bible doesn’t say “blessed are those who avoid conflict.” It says, “blessed are the peacemakers.” Brandon and Susan have built a culture of resolution at Keystone — not because conflict is fun, but because reconciliation is holy.

3. Soul Care & Biblical Counseling

With over twenty years as a licensed counselor, Susan tackles where psychology meets theology. Can you love Jesus and also go to therapy? Yes — if the therapy is rooted in Truth, not secular humanism.

4. Current Cultural Events

The Church cannot stay silent while the world disciples our children. If the Church does not speak, the world gladly will. Expect bold, grace-filled commentary on what’s happening in headlines — not to stir outrage, but to anchor people in truth.

5. Big, Bold Biblical Worldview

This isn’t “Bible lite.” They’re tackling hard questions: What does Scripture actually say about identity, justice, suffering, politics, sexuality, prophecy, and the supernatural? No compromise. No syncretism. Just truth spoken in love.

6. The Church — Beautiful, Flawed, and God’s Idea

There’s a lot of talk about “church hurt.” Some of it is real. Some of it is reactionary. They’ll acknowledge wounds — but also defend the Bride of Christ. Because Jesus hasn’t given up on His Church, and neither should we.

What Makes The Overflow Different?

It’s not just content. It’s conviction.

It’s not just casual conversation — it’s Spirit-led ministry.

Brandon and Susan made one thing clear:

“We can have the best delivery in the world — but without the presence of God, it’ll fall flat.”

This isn’t recycled quotes or motivational monologues. This is fresh manna — daily dependence on the Holy Spirit, poured out freely.

Why You Should Listen

Because you don’t need more opinions. You need more overflow.

  • Overflow of hope when your marriage is dry.

  • Overflow of wisdom when raising kids in a confused world.

  • Overflow of courage when culture presses in.

  • Overflow of discernment when lies sound almost true.

  • Overflow of healing when your soul is fractured.

  • Overflow of joy when cynicism screams louder.

This podcast isn’t trying to go viral. It’s trying to go eternal.

Final Word

In the very first episode, Susan accidentally summarized the whole mission:

“You can’t give what you don’t have. So this podcast is simply the overflow of what Jesus is doing in our lives — and we pray it blesses yours.”

If you’re hungry for authentic, Spirit-filled, Bible-rooted voices in a chaotic world — welcome to The Overflow.
